Review: ONE Battle After Another (2025)

"One Battle After Another" A Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn movie and while the movie flopped in theaters and was seen as being "PRO WOKE" by most on the right while watching it I will say that when you see this movie it's actually showing us what could, and often does happen when young white guys who tend to be more liberal growing up are used by liberation or anti American domestic terrorist groups and the seeds are planted for future generations to keep spreading Marxist, and leftist agendas by indoctrination, and by social causes to further a revolution in this country which we are watching unfold in today's youth more, and more as a lot of the young Gen Z kids are what? Very liberal, and anti American.

To me the writers of this movie were paying attention to the "Black Panther Party" of the 70's/80's which when the majority were taken down they did continue to spread their politics via more low level ways which I'm sure included stories which are close to what made it into this movie. The main rapper I've always listened to since 1990-1991 when I found out about him to now still was and is Tupac Shakur who's the voice of his generation in rap music for sure but also let's not forget his mother "Afeni Shakur" and his adoptive, step father "Mutulu Shakur" all part of the black panthers, and his step aunt "Assata Shakur" who has been in exile in Cuba for decades. Tupac met his real dad "Billy Gerland" in the mid 90's just before he was shot in 1994 and his dad visited him in the hospital and that whole story is pretty incredible and sadly don't think the movie they made about Tupac did it justice by omitting it.

But the events the Shakur and the Black Panthers which caused the life they had before Tupac was even born is how this sort of story goes... To me the story in the movie almost mirrors that of Tupac but using a daughter instead of a male, and Tupac never really had much of a "Father" as his early suspected dad's died when he was young, and Mutulu went to prison when he was young, and mostly his mother Afeni raised him. This movie the "Father" Leonardo DiCaprio raised the daughter who was very pro movement. Like Tupac... This story in a way shows what could happen easily.

Sean Penn who like Leo I'm not a fan off did also a good job in the movie playing the Soldier/Police trying to find out if the girl is his daughter or not as she was raised by Leo when he went into hiding.. Leo went from working with "Pro" black movement like The Black Panthers, to one trying to bring in illegals in the country via the border. This is why most people had an issue with this is movie but while dismissed as liberal b/s you need to watch this movie with this in mind, and this makes this a much more important movie, and I will say probably the best acted film Leonardo DiCaprio has ever had, and yet this was a "Flop" and dismissed for all the reasons against what I mentioned.

IF You have not watched it do so... Watch it with this in mind and not what conservative/liberal spins tell you to think going in. Also this is NOT a comedy but a sad "Drama" and some "Action" but not a whole lot, and you can tell it wasn't a "BIG BUDGET" production. The first even funny moment is like 1 hour and 25 minutes in and there isn't much else to laugh at in this movie. In the end the main daughter ends up going to Oakland California where the rest of her life I'm sure takes shape... Tupac also ended up heading to Oakland California and the rest was history.

4 out of 5 from me and I was expecting to hate this movie... But really enjoyed it when watching in the context and mind frame I went with and not listening to either side for "Opinions" ...
